HORON DANCE (31 Dec. 2017)

In https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edwvUO9GquM is uploaded the Icariotikos folk dance from Lagada feast of 15 August 2015. It is visited already almost 1,300,000 times and the remarks are 390. One of these remarks is as follows (Στη διεύθυνση https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edwvUO9GquM έχει αναρτηθεί ο Ικαριώτικος χορός από το πανηγύρι της Λαγκάδας της 15 Αυγούστου 2015. Η επισκεψιμότητα του βίντεο αγγίζει το 1.300.000, ενώ τα σχόλια τα 390. Ένα από αυτά τα σχόλια έχει ως εξής):

A try of clarifying to the neighbor Francis Gweon, to the young Turkish lady, as well as to the friend from Albania as concerns the Ikarian dance (- Προσπάθεια διευκρίνησης στον γείτονα Francis Gweon, την κοπέλα από την Τουρκία, καθώς και τον φίλο από την Αλβανία όσον αφορά τον Ικαριώτικο χορό):

“Horon” in Greek language (namely Pontian with "n" at the end) means dance (where from chorography p. ex. is originated too). For more details confront also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horon_(dance). Horon today is practiced at Pontos (Trapezounta and Sampsounda) region, as a national Turkish dance. The Ikarian one (which description unfortunately for the moment is available only in Greek - http://www.aee.gr/hellenic/98%20Archive/1920-1959/1922/220910%20Stavaras%201922%20article.htm - that probably could be translated in Albanian, any Slavic, Romanian as well Turkish languages), may remind Horon, but they are not identical to each other. Truth is that Horon is almost the same with another dance, the “Pontian” one. My origins are from Ikaria Island and my wife's family came from Pontos, during the populations exchange of 1922-4 (it is specifically then, when only Greek language speaking Muslims were often sent to Turkey as Turks). When after, we all Balcanians (Albanians, Hellenes, Moldovans or Romanophones, Slavs or Slavophones and Turks) realize how many common things we share, our countries could become much (more) stronger. (Με τη λέξη) χορόν στην ελληνική γλώσσα (και πιο συγκεκριμένα στην Ποντιακή - διάλεκτο - με το «ν» στο τέλος) εννοείται ο χορός (από όπου επίσης κατάγεται π.χ. η λέξη χορογραφία). Για περισσότερες λεπτομέρειες βλ. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horon_(dance). Ο χορόν σήμερα εξασκείται στον Πόντο (Τραπεζούντα και Σαμψούντα), ως ένας τουρκικός εθνικός χορός. Ο Ικαριώτικος (του οποίου η περιγραφή δυστυχώς για την ώρα διατίθεται μόνο στην Ελληνική - http://www.aee.gr/hellenic/98%20Archive/1920-1959/1922/220910%20Stavaras%201922%20article.htm - που θα ήταν δυνατόν να μεταφραστεί στην Αλβανική, Ρουμανική, οιαδήποτε Σλαβική ή Τουρκική), μπορεί μεν να θυμίζει τον Horon, αλλά δεν είναι ίδιοι μεταξύ τους. Η αλήθεια είναι πως ο Χορόν είναι σχεδόν ο ίδιος με έναν άλλο χορό, τον Ποντιακό. Η καταγωγή μου είναι από την Ικαρία και η οικογένεια της συζύγου μου ήρθε από τον Πόντο, κατά την ανταλλαγή των πληθυσμών το 1922-4 (είναι ακριβώς τότε που Ελληνόφωνοι Μουσουλμάνοι συχνά εστάλησαν στην Τουρκία σαν Τούρκοι). Όποτε λοιπόν εμείς οι Βαλκάνιοι (Αλβανοί, Έλληνες, Μολδαβοί ή Ρωμανόφωνοι, Σλάβοι ή Σλαβόφωνοι και Τούρκοι) συνειδητοποιήσουμε πόσα πολλά πράγματα μοιραζόμαστε, τα κράτη μας θα μπορούσαν να γίνουν πολύ δυνατότερα. Η σύζυγός μου είναι καλή χορευτής τόσο στον Ικαριώτικο, όσο και τον Ποντιακό. Ο Ποντιακός όπως εξασκείται σήμερα στην Ελλάδα μπορεί να βρεθεί εδώ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApOVa7G_8y0.
