Member of the European Anthropological Association,
As you know the EAA
Council elections took place in June 2014. Altogether 340 members, our Honorary
Members and those members who paid their membership fee at least till 2013,
were asked to vote this year. The deadline for voting was 25th June and a total
of 110 members voted.
The results of the Council elections (to serve from 2014 to 2016) are
shown below. You are one of the elected members of the new Council. The
rules state that you have to officially accept this nomination.
Therefore we ask you (DEADLINE: 06.08.2014) to send an email to me (Annamaria Zsakai, the General
Secretary, zsakaia@elte.hu) as soon as possible indicating:
(a) your acknowledgement to
be an EAA Council member for 2014-2016 and
(b) stating
if you wish to be a candidate for a position in the new EAA Board by indicating
which position you wish to apply, and what kind of service you could offer as a
Board member.
The board consists of

the former President
·
4 Vice-Presidents
·
the General Secretary
·
the Adjunct Secretary
·
the General Treasurer
·
the Adjunct Treasurer.
Without an answer from you by the 31st of July we will assume
that you do not wish to accept your nomination.
As soon as the new Council is formed we will send the new Council
members the voting bulletin of Board elections with all the necessary
instructions. The tallying for the Board will be undertaken at the 2014
Congress.

According to our regulations
-
The Council consists of
30 elected members.
-
The members who receive
the most votes are elected.
-
There shall not be more
than 2 representatives from any country.
-
There shall not be more
than 3 representatives from outside
-
Elected members are
informed about their election and are requested to acknowledge acceptance of
their nomination as Council Member within 30 days by email.
-
For each refusal or
non-response within 30 days, the next member who received the most votes will
be asked to act as a new Council Member. This procedure will continue until 30
members have accepted their nomination.
